Last night I got the list. It is time to start my travel preparations.
It’s now two months left until I depart from Stockholm for my two months adventure in Africa. Last night I got the letter from Pink Caravan with all the practical details.
Having done this a few times before it’s not a huge surprise, but it’s a nice reminder that it’s about time to start planning ahead.
Getting my insurance extended since this is such a long trip has been fixed. Time to get a doctors appointment to make sure my vaccination is current, and to get a prescription for some malaria medication.
And it’s perhaps time to go find my packing list and see what I can leave behind this time. With only 20 kilos of checked luggage and 10 kilos of carry on luggage light and smart packing is essential. Especially considering I’m hoping to bring along some decent camera gear.
If you got any neat advice or a link to someone who has just drop me a comment.
One of the benefits of travelling like this is not having to do a massive amount of research on places to stay and how to get there. While still having a lot of freedom to do want as soon as you arrive at a destination.
And a lot of destinations it is, below is the list of where we hope to be.
Travelling Africa by road isn’t the easiest way, so I guess there might be changes as we go along. On my last adventure in South America it happened a few times, but that’s part of the experience and the fun of travelling like this.
Looking at the time schedule we might just end up celebrating Christmas on the side of the road somewhere in Tanzania, might get interesting.
If you have visited any of these places and have some good advice on what one should not miss out on, leave me a comment.
