Day 15 – A day snorkling Bazaruto Archipelago

Today has been another great day by the sea. I went with a group of people out to the Bazaruto Archipelago which is a 50 minute ride by fast boat from here. On the way ouy there we encountered a school of dolphins, a good start to the day.

Apparently we were luchy with the weather as the ride out to the archipelago was smooth with almost flat water. The archipelago itself is not a place to go if you are completely new to snorkeling. Even on the calm day we had the currents are quite strong and the waves a bit choppy. But I enjoyed the time we had floating around. I got a little scare when I at one point looked up and couldn’t find the boat. It seem some of the people in the group hed been washed into the corals and the boat brought them on the inside where the water was calmer. I spotted our guide and one of the girls and the three of us made our way back to the boat.

Back on the boat we went to Bazaruto island where we walked the dunes while the crew prepared lunch. Great lunch. While there the diveboat with some of the others came in. Great for us since we got the better lunch 🙂

After lunch we did a bit of snorkling from the beach before heading back to camp.

The rest of the afternoon was spent in the bar at the place where we are staying. The roofing team had their roof party on top of the bus and we had our drinks in the bar.

Tomorrow is a new day and I probably have to try staying out of the sun after todays burns.
