Time to leave.
Today I left Cairns starting my traveling south. I left Cairns on the 0930 bus to Brisbane and stopped in Townsville after a 6 hour bus ride.

The ride was quite nice, better than I had thought beforehand at least. That makes it a bit more pleasant to think about the 10 hour night ride I got later this week.

In Townsville I took the ferry out to Magnetic Island. Then it was a short buss trip over to the other side of the island where I’m staying at Maggies Beach House.

It seems good so fare, haven’t meet my room mates yet, but by the look of it it’s at least two girls, and the probably a bloke. And two free bunks.

The hostel is the newest on the island and seems clean, even if the rooms seems a bit cold. But on the good side, I got a room with a balcony this time to :)

Today was my last day in Cairns. Tomorrow I’m going south to Townsville,and from there to Magnetic Island. It’s supposed to be very nice so I’m looking forward to that.

It’s a bit sad though to leave some of the people I’ve meet up here, we have had some crazy nights together this far, and I’ll bet tonight won’t be an exception :)

Today I’ve just been lying around the pool at the hostel and read a bit, nice to soak up some sun before I head south to worse weather. Even though I think the next weeks will be sunny there to.

Keep reading Cairns to Magnetic Island

Today I’ve hardly been doing anything. I slept late due to a fun evening/night last night :)

Starting out at the Caravella 149 Backpackers with a little pre party over there until the management got fed up. Then we moved on to a Irish pub, and ended up at the “Meat Market”. (Aka The Woolshed )

Today I’ve only been going around making plans and bookings for the trip down toward Sydney. And I’ve got it all figured out all the way down to Brisbane. There I’ll have to see what to do from there on.

Tonight I’m going to eat dinner where I always do, at the Sports Bar. (Just because it’s a free meal, but starting to get tired of Chili con Carne).
Then I’ll have to see who I meet there and what to do tonight. But the changes of there being alcohol in the picture is quite large :)

Keep reading Last day in Cairns

Another day comes to an end.

Today I went to Green Island out in the reef. It was a nice small island and a good place to go snorkeling or diving.

I left Cairns at 9 in the morning and the boat ride is about an hour. Out there I walked a bit around the island and the took a tour with a glass bottom boat.

The tour offered lunch on the boat but I brought my own, it’s a bit cheaper :)

After lunch I went snorkeling on the reef, it was beautiful even if I couldn’t see everything clearly. And a bit scary when you could here the sound of the parrot fish nibbling on the corals.

Tonight I’ll go out and see if Cairns is any good then I’ll have to see what I’m going to do tomorrow.

Keep reading Saturday, still in Cairns

Then the fist day of my journey is coming to an end.
I just finished a free meal and are going to have a quick look at the night life before I head of to bed.

Have had about 2-3 hours of sleep the last 36 hours so I’m a bit tired.

The flight up here went well and I found a nice hostel in the center of town, sharing a dorm with another guy and 4 girls :)

Tomorrow I’m going to Green Island on a hole day trip, it’s supposed to be really good so I’m looking forward to it. Then I might also get some photos for my next mail.

I’ve also decided to go on the bus back to Sydney, not sure when I start of from here yet, I have my room until Monday, but it wont be a big problem getting one for longer.

Well I guess that’s it for today. And I hope to cya tomorrow, and then perhaps with some nice photos.
